La Fundación Bodas de Isabel conocía hoy lunes, la declaración de Fiesta de Interés Turístico Nacional
para Las Bodas de Isabel de Segura, que cada mes de febrero desde hace 20 años, recrea la famosa
Leyenda de Los Amantes de Teruel.
El equipo de la Fundación Bodas de Isabel, entidad organizadora del evento, ha recibido esta gran noticia
como un importante impulso para la fiesta, y un incentivo para seguir trabajando y mejorando día a día,
que no podía venir en mejor momento, cuando justamente se cumple el 20 Aniversario de la recreación,
y como antesala del 800 Aniversario de Los Amantes de Teruel, que se celebrará durante el próximo año, 2017.
El gran éxito de público y difusión de la pasada edición, han ayudado sin duda a culminar este proceso positivamente,
y esta mañana, la alcaldesa de Teruel, Enma Buj, informaba en declaraciones a los medios de esta resolución,
transmitida desde la Secretaría de Estado de Turismo, a la vez que valoraba muy positivamente este
reconocimiento nacional, para la multitudinaria representación de la “más hermosa historia de Amor jamás contada”,
Los Amantes de Teruel.
El proceso, que requería un plazo de cinco años desde su declaración como Fiesta de Interés Turístico Regional,
y que ha supuesto un importante esfuerzo de recopilación de documentación por parte de Fundación y Ayuntamiento,
ha obtenido por fin su recompensa, con esta declaración que, a juicio de la directora de la Fundación,
Raquel Esteban, “Supone un sello de calidad, la consolidación definitiva de una fiesta que se ha
mantenido en continuo crecimiento durante sus 20 años de historia; algo que no se consigue fácilmente,
por lo que es señal de que se está trabajando bien y en el buen camino”.
Para Esteban y su equipo, “este éxito proviene de la suma de muchas voluntades, de la aportación
de todos los que participan en la fiesta, del pueblo de Teruel, apasionado de su historia, y de
mucha gente de fuera que apoya y ama Las Bodas de Isabel; es la suma del esfuerzo de todos lo que
consigue que la Fiesta esté más viva que nunca”.
Este gran reconocimiento supone también una importante tarjeta de presentación en Europa, donde
la Fundación Bodas de Isabel se mueve desde hace años en distintos ámbitos, como el Proyecto
“Europa Enamorada”, el Congreso Internacional de Fiestas y Recreaciones Históricas, o la
Confederación Europea de Fiestas y Manifestaciones Históricas, cuya presidencia ocupará
Raquel Esteban a partir de 2017, en calidad de vicepresidenta de la
Asociación Española de Fiestas y Recreaciones Históricas.
Desde la AEFRH y sus miembros se ha apoyado de manera importante este proceso, que ha culminado
hoy con esta declaración, que supone un espaldarazo definitivo a “Las Bodas de Isabel”.

Las Bodas de Isabel de Segura declared Fiesta of National Tourist Interest

The Foundation Bodas de Isabel obtained on Monday the declaration of Fiesta of National
Tourist Interest for the Bodas de Isabel de Segura, that recreates the famous legend of the
Lovers of Teruel each month of February for 20 years.
The foundation Bodas de Isabel's team, organiser of the event, received this great news as an
important impulse for the celebration, and an incentive to keep on working and improving their
actions everyday. This award couldn't have been received at a better moment, since we are
celebrating the 20th anniversary of the re-enactment. It is also seen as a good prelude to
the 800th anniversary of the Lovers of Teruel, that will be celebrated next year, in 2017.
Its great success with the public and the diffusion of the last edition helped in increasing the
process positively without any doubt, and in the morning, the mayor of Teruel, Enma Buj, informed
the media about this resolution, transmitted from the Secretary of Tourism of the State.
At the same time, she valorizes very positively the national recognition of the mass representation
of the "most beautiful love story ever told", the Lovers of Teruel.
The process, that will require a period of five years since its declaration as fiesta of
National Tourist Interest, implying an important effort of documents compilation by the foundation
and the city council, obtained at last its reward with this declaration that, according to
the foundation's director Raquel Esteban, "can be taken as a quality label, the definitive
strengthening of a celebration that kept on growing up through its 20 years of existence;
something that cannot be achieved easily, thus it means we are working well and on the good path".
According to Esteban and her team, " this success comes from the amount of a lot of work,
from the involvement of all those who took part in the celebration, from the people of Teruel,
in love with their history, and thanks to the people outside the city who love and support the
Bodas de Isabel; it is the amount of the work of all those who succeeded in turning the Fiesta into a lively event"
This great recognition also consists of an important business card in Europe, where the
Foundation Bodas de Isabel is promoted for a few years in various fields, for instance the
project "Europe in Love", the International Congress of Historical Celebrations and Re-enactments,
whose presidency will be occupied by Raquel Esteban as of 2017, as the vice-president of the
Spanish Association of Historical celebrations and Re-enactments. This association and its members
supported strongly this process that achieved this week, with this declaration, a huge recognition
on behalf of the "Bodas de Isabel".
